ISU Underwood Agency

The roots of The Underwood Agency can be traced back to 1865. Lafayette was, at the time, a bustling river town of just over 9000 people. The founder, Thomas Underwood shared great optimism that Lafayette would expand as an agricultural and transportation center.

My Grandfather, Walter Graham joined the agency just in time for the great flood of 1913. And while the water would recede, Lafayette's and the Underwood Agency's progress would not. My dad just out of the army returned to Lafayette and joined the agency in 1946 representing the fourth generation of men to be employed at 310 Ferry St.

After graduating from Purdue I joined the agency in 1973. Today we like to hold the notion that we have successfully carried many great traditions forward. Traditions like good service and attention to detail which form the foundation of lasting business relationships.
